Environmentally friendly fabrics

Clean manufacturing with DURALENE® yarns

The Fabric Project uses only solution-dyed DURALENE® yarns.

Solution-dying is a clean yarn manufacturing process because the color in mineral pigment form is added before the yarn is extruded or produced. No dyes or dye bath processes are used, virtually eliminating waste effluents, which pollute air and water. The pigments contain no heavy metals, and the production is extremely energy efficient.

Because the color is impregnated through the yarn, these materials have excellent resistance to color fading and therefore are long lasting.

Environmentally safe product lifecycle

Durafab fabrics can be easily recycled into other products, such as the frame for office chairs and other plastic products. They also incinerate to trash ash, with no harmful residues to the environment.
